These Lonely Nights
05:10
|
|||
Every day starts off the same way
It takes three cups of coffee just to get my bed made
Always wrong, but I’ll make it, alright
Then I won’t be alone one of these nights
Go to work, makin’ twice what I’m worth
Fourteen and fifty and fighting the urge
To tell ‘em all that I’m not on their side
Then I won’t be alone one of these nights
These nights, these lonely nights
I send a wish to all the stars in the sky
All I need is to rest these eyes
I can’t take one more of these lonely nights
Headed home, my hunger has grown
Call a piece of the pie just to pick up the phone
If I can learn to make up my mind
Then I won’t be alone one of these nights
These nights, these lonely nights
I send a wish to all the stars in the sky
All I need is to rest these eyes
I can’t take one more of these lonely nights
My spirit’s been broken
Since the first word was spoken
I’m waiting here still
To awaken the will
To live in the light
Lord I pray you change my old way
Just give me the patience just to get through these days
In the dark, I press my hands tight
That I won’t be alone one of these nights
These nights, these lonely nights
I send a wish to all the stars in the sky
All I need is to rest these eyes
I can’t take one more of these lonely nights

All The Way Home
04:41

The highway livin’s fine enough for me
Made a life of being all alone
Gone from town to town to find belief
Haven’t found the one to call my own
Now my eyes are fallin’
And my pillows callin’
All my windows down and the radio up
I’ll keep on driving ‘til I’m dead
Take me all the way, all the way home
Country road song stuck in my head
Take me all the way, all the way home
Reaching for my next hit of caffeine
Just to find I drank it all away
I’d rather run right out of gasoline
The lord is due to call me any day
Now my eyes are fallin’
And my pillows callin’
All my windows down and the radio up
I’ll keep on driving ‘til I’m dead
Take me all the way, all the way home
Country road song stuck in my head
Take me all the way, all the way home
Now the needle’s tired from telling of my speed
A Left lane bullet going nowhere fast
If tears were blood, I’ve nothing left to bleed
So I’m fleeing to the future from the past
Now who will see me through the night
Now who will keep me ‘til the light
Now who will hear the songs I write
Now who, now who
Now my eyes are fallin’
And my pillows callin’
All my windows down and the radio up
I’ll keep on driving ‘til I’m dead
Take me all the way, all the way home
Country road song stuck in my head
Take me all the way, all the way home

The Flame
04:35

I can’t say I’d miss you if I left you here today
Don’t know where I’m headed, but I know that I can’t stay
The night is only as dark as you make it
You’ll be stronger alone I know you can take it
God didn’t give me a guiding light
I had to learn to fake it
Now I’m giving into the night
Without a glimmer left to glow on
Cuz the flame burnin’ twice as bright
Burns half as long
Time won’t let me say goodbye if it frees me from this place
I know you would not let me try to leave without a trace
The night is only as dark as you make it
You’ll be stronger alone I know you can take it
God didn’t give me a guiding light
I had to learn to fake it
Now I’m giving into the night
Without a glimmer left to glow on
Cuz the flame burnin’ twice as bright
Burns half as long
My candle’s cold, it’s finally burned out for the final time
I’ve found my peace, bittersweet release, oh remember how it shined
The night is only as dark as you make it
You’ll be stronger alone I know you can take it
God didn’t give me a guiding light
I had to learn to fake it
Now I’m giving into the night
Without a glimmer left to glow on
Cuz the flame burnin’ twice as bright
Burns half as long
