Perfect Man
05:25
|

I always pass on cigarettes
but I’ll spit my smoke straight into your lungs
my words will pierce so don’t forget your shield
for I tote a loaded gun
yes I do
you’re the perfect man
you’re the perfect man
you’re the perfect man
in your head
but mister perfect man
who are you to judge
when you’re livin’ life
like you’re already dead
I was not born just yesterday
so don’t you patronize me for the way I look
I ain’t no sheep so save your wolf
and I ain’t no fish so save your hook
you’re the perfect man
you’re the perfect man
you’re the perfect man
in your head
but mister perfect man
who are you to judge
when you’re livin’ life
like you’re already dead
the hurt behind your angry eyes was not my prize
so don’t you look at me
I hold my hope out for the most
but for your soul I got no sympathy
no I don’t
you’re the perfect man
you’re the perfect man
you’re the perfect man
in your head
but mister perfect man
who are you to judge
when you’re livin’ life
like you’re already dead

Ain't Seen a Cent
03:29
|

you ain't seen a cent that your daddy earned
you ain't seen a cent that your daddy earned
you ain't seen a cent that your daddy earned
you lost it on the liquor and you never learned
The bitter root gives a sour taste
The bitter root gives a sour taste
The bitter root gives a sour taste
a flavor so familiar but was never faced
your brother brave to swim, but you watched him drown
your brother brave to swim, but you watched him drown
your brother brave to swim, but you watched him drown
you held him underwater just to steal his crown
your lady left you alone for you to be
your lady left you alone for you to be
your lady left you alone for you to be
but a man with many demons doesn't feel free
the past departs–you grip it tighter still
the past departs–you grip it tighter still
the past departs–you grip it tighter still
the future fair, but presently you're losing your will
you ain't seen a cent that your duty earned
you ain't seen a cent that your duty earned
you ain't seen a cent that your duty earned
you lost it on the liquor and you never learned
